The Great Gnome Caper

These magical little beings so fascinate some people that they often place them around their gardens!

They think that their Gnomes are only ornamental garden figures … but are they?

Your task is to create a display entitled “When The Owners Are Away, The Gnomes Will Play!”, showing what these little fellows get up to when people aren’t watching.

Ask someone who owns a Gnome(s) if you can borrow it for a while.  Remember to handle the little chap carefully!

Take photos to illustrate your project.  A digital camera is easiest.

You may like to present your project as:

• A Booklet
• A Poster
• A PowerPoint Presentation
• Dioramas or dolls house set up with Gnomes at work and play
• Any other way of your choice

You may like to show Gnomes doing some of the following:

• Various household tasks, such as ironing their tiny clothes, cooking etc.
• Having a bath, shower, cleaning teeth
• Using a computer, music keyboard, guitar etc.
• On playground equipment
• At well known places/landmarks
• On bus, train, tram, paddle boat etc.
• Shopping… some shopping centres have mini trolleys which could be useful
• Flying a kite
• Playing a sport
• Playing chess or other game

EXTRA CHALLENGE

Make your own Gnome.

You could use clay or papier mache or whatever else you like.

Paint him up brightly and put him with your display.

*Remember, this kind of Gnome will not be waterproof, so keep him in dry places!

EXTRA CHALLENGE

Go on a search for Gnomes in gardens or wherever you can find them and take their photos!
