Zodiac, from the police perspective, follows the cases of a murderous madman who terrorises the San Francisco Bay area with brutal killings and cryptic ciphers. It's a true story that started in 1969 and leaves a baffling trail through to almost today.

It's a gripping tale that combines the routine work of those involved in solving the murders and the long term effects that the tragic events have on their lives.

The shining star is Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal) who starts out as a newspaper cartoonist with no expertise in crime reporting but effortlessly builds the connection with Zodiac's ciphers and psychology. Its ultimately Robert who keeps the case alive for so many years.

The movie and cast is a fantastic recreation of the various eras that it spans and the ending is one that you probably wont see coming.

The movie runs for about 2 and half hours, though it's no chore, in fact I highly recommend it!
