Looking for pet friendly holiday accommodation? Maybe a pet friendly rental house, unit or hotel? There is a list of pet friendly holiday rentals at the end of this article.
For some of us, a holiday just isn't perfect without our best friend along- and for many this is their dog... or cat... or bird... or horse... or (fill in the blank!)
For others, finding someone to care for their pet while they are away is too difficult, especially for extended holidays. Or maybe their beloved pet frets if they are not with their owner, or is scared of strangers. Or perhaps the often high cost of pet boarding fees is prohibitive.
For these occasions, finding truly pet friendly accommodation where your furred or feathered friend is welcome, can be the best option. But this is sometimes easier said than done! Luckily, there are quite a few owners of allkinds of accommodation types who understand the desire, or need, to bring your pet with you on holiday, and take pleasure in providing pet friendly accommodation.
You can find pet friendly caravan parks. Pet friendly hotels. Pet friendly motels. Pet friendly apartments. Pet friendly B&B's. Pet friendly rental houses and cottages. Pet friendly houseboats. Even luxury pet friendly accommodation!

A lot of accommodation places allow you to have your pets inside- but usually ask that they be kept off furniture- as long as they are clean and free of pests. Vaccination certificates are often required, especially if there are other animals on the premises. Other places may require dogs to be kept outside, but usually provide a safe, protected place for your pet to sleep. Some have kennels, special dog runs, or wide open spaces where dogs are able to run freely. Some accommodation allows pets of any kind, while others limit what they will allow and sometimes have limits on size, or exclude certain breeds or noisy anti-social pets.
You will be expected to keep your pet under control, often on a leash in certain areas, and not allow it to cause a nuisance to property, other animals, or people, and it is your responsibility to clean up after it. Some places charge an extra fee per night, or a cleaning fee, for pets.
