Are you looking for pet friendly holiday accommodation where you can take your pet- dog, cat, horse, bird etc- along with you? A pet friendly rental house, or unit, or maybe a hotel? A list of some pet friendly holiday rentals is included at the end of this article.
Is it just too hard to find a responsible person to care for your pet, especially for an extended holiday? Or will your pet- or you- fret if you aren't together? Are boarding kennels just too impersonal for a pet as precious as yours? Or too expensive?
In these circumstances, staying at pet friendly accommodation, can solve these problems. Not all accommodation venues allow pets, but with a little research, finding a place where your beloved pet is welcome is not too difficult. A lot of accommodation owners are sympathetic to the needs of you and your pet, and delight in making you all feel at home.
You can find pet friendly caravan parks. Pet friendly hotels. Pet friendly motels. Pet friendly apartments. Pet friendly B&B's. Pet friendly rental houses and cottages. Pet friendly houseboats. Even luxury pet friendly accommodation!

Points to check or consider:
- Some places allow pets inside, some don't. Usually pets are expected to stay off the furniture.
- If pets are expected to be outside, usually there will be a secure, protected place for it to sleep. Some places provide kennels or special dog runs.
- Pets are usually required to be under control, or on a lead, however there are some places which allow pets to run free.
- Naturally, you are responsible for making sure your pet doesn't worry people, other animals, or cause any damage, and to clean up after your pet.
- Pets are often required to be vaccinated, free of fleas etc and clean.
- At some places, an extra fee may be charged for your pet.
- Limits may apply on number, type, breed and size of pet.
