When it comes to removing hair permanently, there are so many choices out there that are available to everyone that sometimes simply choosing a hair removal technique is harder than actually removing the hair. You could wax, but then again waxing can be painful as well as hot. You could pluck out the hairs, but this is still painful as well as very time consuming. Shaving is quick and efficient but it leave stubble and is not a permanent option. You also have many different types of chemical lotions as well as laser hair removal to help you get rid of that unwanted hair.
Creams that qualify as a depilatory one actually interacts with the structure of the hair follicle on the level of its protein causing is dissolve deep within the pore. These creams also will act as an exfoliate and help smooth out the skin. Simply applying these creams to the unwanted hair covered region and wait for the magic. When it is all done simply wipe the hair away. While considered to be permanent, the hair can grow back in time since in many cases the root of the hair follicles are left intact.
If your skin is not too sensitive, you can try any number of abrasion mitts specially designed to buff away the skin much like sandpaper would be used on wood to make it smooth. This buffing also exfoliates the skin, but is only good on fine hair and those with sensitive skin should not attempt it. The same rules will also generally apply to tweezing except it will not exfoliate the skin and can be used to remove only a couple hairs from an area.
Threading is growing in popularity to help remove fine hairs from the skin’s surface. While only temporary, the results last longer than that of shaving and it is also a simple procedure. This threading is simply done with balled up and twisted cotton thread that is simply rolled over the skin and pulls out the finer hairs; root and all.
You could wax or sugar in which a sticky substance is applied to the skin and then using a cloth, the hair is ripped from the skin’s surface. While waxing is generally more painful due to the wax having to be hot, they are both fairly good ways of removing skin and the results can last up to two months.
You then have the more heavy duty hair removal treatments like electrolysis, laser hair removal and IPL hair removal (Intense Pulsed Light) . These are the longest lasting when it comes to the results associated with hair removal. Electrolysis removes the hair by damaging the follicle with an electrical charge. Likewise, the laser treatment also damages the hair but instead of electricity it uses heat. IPL is another form of the laser hair removal but requires less treatments for the effects to be permanent.
