It is believed that work is well under way on the new Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 (Yes DW CS5 !). Word has it that it was determined that because the pro-am / professional web development IDE marketplace had become so competitive in recent years that Dreamweaver was in need of a HUGE overhaul to keep it competitive.
Because the undertaking of this major overhaul for Dreamweaver couldn't possibly fit into the timeline of the CS5 project, the application only got some minor tinkering and upating (compared with the other major apps in the CS5 bundles).
Therefore, all of the major updating is currently well underway for Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. I'm lead to believe that we can expect a major overhaul to the Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 inteface as well as much better native integration, that is, integration with Adobe software, documents, standards and workflow. Dreamweaver CS5 will have support for ASP.NET and JSP removed altogether.
Some sources are suggesting that Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 (and indeed Adobe CS5 in general) will be released in March / April / May 2009 (US Spring time). Stay tuned for the official Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 release date.
