FAMILY MOVIES
Family Movies From A 12 Year Old's Point of View.
I always love watching movies with my family on TV, video, DVD and at the cinema.
Here are the movie ratings to help you decide what your family should watch-
(G) rated movies are fine for kids but check with an adult first.
(PG) rated movies are mostly fine but, once again, check with an adult before watching.
(M) rated movies- sometimes these are fine for older kids, but sometimes they are too violent, or scary, or otherwise unsuitable.
(MA) rated movies are restricted for kids unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. Most are not suitable anyway.
(R) rated movies are too violent, or unsuitable in other ways, for kids and it’s illegal for kid’s under 18 to watch.
Here are my top 10 favourite movies.
They are not best to worst… they are all great!
1. A Bugs Life DVD
2. The Neverending Story DVD
3. Five Children and It DVD
4. Star Trek Generations DVD
5. Catch That Kid DVD
6. Peter Pan DVD (the live action movie)
7. Valiant DVD
8. Shrek DVD
9. Sweet Home Alabama DVD
10. The Master of Discus DVD
There are so many more great movies, why not let us know your favourites!
Watching time should be limited- not too much in a day! It can be bad for you to be in front of the screen for too long.
I think 2 or 3 hours is best for a CRT TV or, for an LCD or plasma TV 3 hours to whatever you think is best.
Make sure you have a good TV or projector. I think an LCD TV is best and good speakers are important.
I think a DTS 5.1 sound system is best and a comfy chair and (1 or 2) power boards. This should be all you need to have to have a great time at home with your family.
To have a great time watching your movie you should sit in the centre, near the back. Never sit at the very front or you will stretch your neck and you can see all the makeup on the actors. It’s just not a good idea.
Watching a movie at a friend’s house, or having friends over-
don’t you love having friends over for a party, or a sleepover, or something?
A movie is a great thing to do at a party, but it does take some time. Plan it well ahead and make sure that you think (and the parents of the other kids think) that it’s ok. If your kids are going over to a friend’s house, and if they going to watch a movie, make sure it’s suitable.
So, have fun……………!
I love family movies on TV, DVD, VHS and I know you do too! :)
